Treasurer’s Report:

§

$118.51 in the WAMU account

§

$6222.37 in the King County account

§

Awaiting invoices for the printing and mailing of the election ballots. David R. will track down the invoices.

§

Insurance payment comes due in December.

§

Cynthia G. explained the two separate accounts. The WAMU account is the original FCUAC account into which the original members' donations were deposited to get the UAC going before the King County funding was set aside. The King County account represents the $10,000 that the county makes available to the UAC each year. These funds must be used in one calendar year. Any funds left over at the end of the year are forfeit.

Friends of May Valley invite all to the annual Potluck Dinner - December 8th at 6:00pm at the May Valley Alliance Church across from Keppler's Barn on SR 900.

§

Insurance questionnaire from Griffen MacLean. Must be completed and returned for insurance quote for next year. Handed to

§

King County Accounts Payable Form - required to be completed and returned in order to receive funds for invoices presented for reimbursement. Marissa will complete and submit.

§

The East Renton Community Church has given us notice that they will not have space for us starting next year. We need to find a new place to meet. All members and the public are requested to investigate any possible leads and report by the next Regular meeting so that arrangements can be made in time for the January meeting.

Deputy's Reports:

§

 There was an apparent murder/suicide in Fairwood last month. Otherwise crime is down slightly in our area.
Residential Burglaries - down 1
Auto Theft - down 3
Miscellaneous Theft - down 3

§

Most burglaries happen during the day when residents are at work, but that changes in November and December when more of them happen in the evening.

§

David D. reported that there is much racing on SR 900 eastbound between 164th and May Valley Road, espcieally on Saturday and Sunday nights. Deputy Maxwell said that he would talk to the day and swing shifts.

§

An audience member asked is it was possible to get one of the radar display trailers. Deputy Maxwell invited anyone to call the storefront and a request would be filed. The storefront phone number is: 206) 205-8338

Our outgoing president gave an overview of the efforts of the FCUAC from the past year. He thanked all the members for their hard work. Topics that he highlighted included:

- King County's Comprehensive Plan Updates

- May Valley
- Renton's Comprehensive Plan Updates
- Schools
- Elliot Bridge
- Getting the word out that the UAC is here!
- Researching, reorganizing and improving our election process

There are three Open Seats at this time: Districts 6, 9, and 10. Marilyn Sullivan and Paul Zucati have formally expressed interest in being appointed to temporary at large seats as provided by our bylaws. Appointments will be considered at the December Regular meeting.

§

Our outgoing members - Cynthia Green, Paul Zucati, Brian Thomas and David Rockabrand were thanked for their exemplary service ands received rousing applause.

§

Our new members were seated and packets including copies of the Citizens' Participation Initiative, our Bylaws, the calendar for next year and the Open Meetings Laws were distributed.

The nominees gave a short speech on how they saw themselves filling the office and responded to questions. They then left the room for the vote.

Kelly F. was unanimously affirmed.

 Other Responsibilities Transferred:

Kelly F. will be watching for all the instances in which the FCUAC needs to create standard processes for improved operations.

A-Boards - Kelly F. and Ronda B. volunteered to take responsibility for 2 of the 4 A-Boards. David R. will continue to hold the other two until homes/keepers can be found.

Critical Areas Ordinance Updates Comments Letter Presented:

§

Marshall B. presented the letter. He and others of the FCUAC have been attending the Public Hearings on the matter. He reported that the CAO committee had drafted the letter Saturday, November 15.

§

Gwendolyn H. asked about the CAO committee. She had not heard of it before and wondered if the Land Use and Environment, of which she is a member, was the committee. She reported that she had not been notified of the Saturday meeting.

§

Marshall B. stated that he had created the subcommittee in order to meet with a body fewer than quorum and thus without the constraints of the Open Meetings Laws due to the November 22 comment deadline.

§

A working session commenced and the letter was amended. The final version can be reviewed here.
