Minutes of the July 17, 2002 Meeting of the Four Creeks U.A.C.


The meeting began at 7:10 p.m. In attendance were Denise Lockner-Jones, Cynthia Green, Oscar Bandelin, Marshall Brenden, Chuck Pillon, Dave Dahlin, Gwendolyn High, Rod McFarland, Tom Fisher and Tami Harris. Also in attendance were members of the public.


  1. Minutes: Minutes from the previous meetings in June were approved.

  2. Correspondence: No report was given - David Rockabrand was absent

  3. Update UAC Map: Gwendolyn High advised the Council that the work to have King County create new maps would be $55 per hour at approx 55 hours. Gwendolyn is going to write a letter to the Presidents of the other UAC's, requesting their involvement in this issue.

  4. Public Comment: A member of the public broached a subdividing subject of short plots in the Rural areas which he felt went directly against the growth management act. Claudia Donnely reported on the progress of getting a light in on 900 & 148th. Currently project is on temporary hold. Kate Kaluzny reported on the Volunteer Lake Stewardship program that King County DNRP is trying to institute, which would use untrained volunteers to assess, locate, and record, the state of lake banks, the condition of structures and the description of vegetation cover for permanent county and state records. Discussion ensued. Motion was made, seconded, and passed to write a statement of concern letter to DNRP.

  5. New Business: Oscar Bandelin introduced the new business of West Nile Virus and created a sub-committee of David Rockabrand, Marshall Brendeden and himself to research the subject.

  6. Department of Transportation: David Gualtieri presented information about Arterial Classification Study. Arterials are classified as 1.Principal (busiest with most mobility and land access) 2.Minor 3.Collectors. Current classification study to be completed and at the Council in Sept 2002.   7. UAC Forum at King County : Marshall Brenden and Rod McFarland reported on the UAC Forum hosted at King County. Another meeting will be held on September 24th, hosted by Bear Creek UAC. It is an open forum for all UAC's. Currently there is no planned public input for DDES revisions on critical area statutes. Buffers being placed will follow Bear Creek. There will be a tour ahead of the meeting.
