2007/2008: A significant time

2007-2008 is an important year since updates to both the King County Charter and substantive updates to the King County Comprehensive Plan are happening concurrently.

This time is also the last opportunity for these changes to be made before the end of the first cycle of the Growth Management Act. This is important because sufficient time has passed to get meaningful data on the results of that act.

Public comment opportunities

Public comment via community town hall meetings are occurring in March and April for both the Charter and Comprehensive Plan. Public comment for the Comprehensive Plan continues via the regular Growth Management & Natural Resouces Committee meetings through the summer.

Public comment can also be submitted in writing or via the county's web site.
